Turn your tiniest scraps into something beautiful! In this creative and fun class, you'll learn how to create an improv-pieced border around one of our exclusive Book Lover Panels, and finish it into a tote bag, wall hanging or table mat — perfect to keep or gift!
What You’ll Learn:
- Improv piecing techniques to use up scraps
- Framing a panel with your own unique border
- Binding basics for a clean, finished look
- How to prep your finished piece for a custom tote or fun wall hanging
Kit Includes:
- 1 Book Lover Panel of your choice (Students MUST come to select from our booth at Salty Sews Something the day prior to class or they will receive our “Sew Little Shelf Space” panel.)
- Access to a full rainbow of hand-dyed scrap fabrics
- Coordinating hand-dyed binding
- Dowel rod for hanging
Supplies to Bring:
- Sewing Machine w/ Thread and Premade Bobbin (neutral)
- Rotary cutter AND Scissors
- Pins or clips
- Marking tools
- Seam roller or mini iron + small iron mat (for pressing seams at your machine as you go)
- Basic sewing notions
